I've been struggling to finish this piece since I started it in 2020 as a tribute to my younger brother Jeremy Urbina , everyday I miss and think of him ever since he was taken away from me and my family in 2019.
The pink and teal forms are hearts I warped and skewed to represent the feelings that those who love or loved my brother went through.
The skull hidden away in the top left corner, representing the hard acknowledgement of his passing cover in layers of transparent colours until it was hidden away
And lastly the gold, inspired by Japanese Kintsugi ceramics, the gold mending the heartache and pain giving a form of beauty as we remember the kind soul my brother was.
